A Christian Perspective on Counseling

Recovering the Heart

In this video, Caleb McKean looks at emotions and feelings from a Christian Counseling viewpoint. Caleb talks about emotions and feelings. He's noticed that many people do not like feeling any type of strong emotion. And, he very clearly states a healthy goal in counseling: "Am I living life the best that I can, even if bad things happen." Therefore, recovering our heart and emotions as related to God is an important part of Christian Counseling. He discusses the heart-effect of the things happening in our current world situations.

Caleb also discusses learning to understand what is effecting your heart and emotions, and using this to help develop one of your purposes in life. He encourages us to feel our heart constantly: "This is where purpose, this is where identity, this is where values come from." He then discusses the neuropathways associated with heart feelings. Caleb encourages us to "recover our heart". He gives us ways to do so. I encourage you to listen to this short video and recover YOUR heart.
